Lealman business grants: check the rules before work starts

A Lealman business owner considering repairs or renovations should check the county’s commercial grant rules before hiring someone to start. The county says work already in progress cannot receive funding.

The grants require an owner’s matching investment. They also work by reimbursement: the applicant completes approved work, pays the contractors and submits records before the county considers payment.

The address is only the first check

The property must be inside the Lealman redevelopment area and meet the program’s location and business requirements. Being in Lealman does not, by itself, qualify a business.

Eligible work can include building exteriors, parking, interiors and improvements for food businesses. Some business types are excluded. Owners should ask CRA staff about their specific property and project before committing money.
